Defragmenter – JkDefrag
JkDefrag is probably my favorite defragmentation program. Its fast, free, and very simple to use. All that you do is dowload the zip, and run the executable, it automatically defragments your files. I want to get some quantitative data about the actual speedup that JkDefrag offers, but I’m not exactly sure how to do that yet.
Archive Manager – 7zip
7zip is amazing. I love how lightweight and fast it is. I also really like that the .7z format gets such better compression than any other format. 7zip also offers awesome self-extracting and encryption capabilities. I used to use WinRAR, but I got tired of the cluttered interface. Now that I am hooked on 7zip, I don’t think that I can ever go back.
